Overview
Order Block Locator is a free MetaTrader 5 indicator that draws bullish ob reaction arrows, bearish ob reaction arrows, bullish order block (demand) zones, bearish order block (supply) zones, htf confluence border zones, higher-timeframe order block outline zones and a panel (On-chart panel) on the main price chart. When a Bullish OB reaction arrow prints, it can send pop-up, push and sound alerts. We logged 16 of its signals at bar close on EURUSD M15 and re-read them after the test: none had changed. Start with ObBodyAtrMultiplier, default 1 — minimum order block body = this x ATR (0.3-3.0).

How to read it
A Bullish OB reaction arrow (buffer 0) prints when a closed bar trades into an active bullish order block zone and closes back above the zone top (with a bullish candle when RequireConfirmationCandleColor is on), on the first touch of the zone unless SignalOnEveryTouch is on. With the default ObBodyAtrMultiplier=1, expect roughly 1.3 arrows per week on EURUSD M15.
A Bearish OB reaction arrow (buffer 1) prints when a closed bar trades into an active bearish order block zone and closes back below the zone bottom (with a bearish candle when RequireConfirmationCandleColor is on), on the first touch of the zone unless SignalOnEveryTouch is on. With the default ObBodyAtrMultiplier=1, expect roughly 1.3 arrows per week on EURUSD M15.
Bullish order block (demand) zones are removed when a bar closes below the zone bottom (deleted or turned gray per OnMitigation), the zone is older than MaxZoneAgeBars bars, or a new bullish zone exceeds MaxActiveZonesPerSide (oldest removed) (input MaxZoneAgeBars, default 300).
Bearish order block (supply) zones are removed when a bar closes above the zone top (deleted or turned gray per OnMitigation), the zone is older than MaxZoneAgeBars bars, or a new bearish zone exceeds MaxActiveZonesPerSide (oldest removed) (input MaxZoneAgeBars, default 300).
HTF confluence border zones are removed when the order block zone it outlines is mitigated, expires or is removed.
Higher-timeframe order block outline zones are removed when a closed HTF bar closes through the far side of the zone, the zone is older than MaxZoneAgeBars HTF bars, or the per-side cap is exceeded (input ShowHtfZones, default true).
The On-chart panel panel shows last reaction signal (direction, price, move in pips since the signal, strength), nearest zone above and below with distance in pips, active bullish/bearish zone counts with HTF confluence count, zones tested and reaction win-rate, active HTF zone counts.
Installation
- 1Download OrderBlockLocator.ex5 from the button above (Google Drive).
- 2In MetaTrader 5: File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Indicators. Copy OrderBlockLocator.ex5 there.
- 3Restart MT5 or right-click Indicators in Navigator → Refresh.
- 4Drag Order Block Locator onto a chart. For push alerts, enable "Allow push notifications" under Tools → Options → Notifications.
- Tested on MT5 build 6230.

Order Block Locator suits traders who need bullish ob reaction arrows, bearish ob reaction arrows, bullish order block (demand) zones, bearish order block (supply) zones, htf confluence border zones, higher-timeframe order block outline zones and a panel (On-chart panel) that do not move after the bar closes. The test produced only 16 arrows, too few to judge them. Order Block Locator was tested on EURUSD only; other symbols were not tested.
